This study examines the specific geomorphological characteristics of the commune of Zoumi and their influence on the formation and spatial distribution of water resources within the study area, as well as their overall role in determining the abundance or scarcity of these resources. The study adopts a descriptive and analytical approach, using Geographic Information Systems (GIS), topographic and geological maps, a Digital Elevation Model (DEM), in addition to field investigations. The results show that steep slopes, geological structure, the permeability of rock formations, as well as the density of the drainage network and vegetation cover, are among the major geomorphological factors controlling the dynamics of water resources in the commune of Zoumi, through their influence on surface runoff and groundwater recharge. The study therefore emphasizes the importance of integrating geomorphological data into water-resource planning and management in order to ensure their sustainability.
