Analysis of Demographic Changes in the Labor Force of Al-Batnan Region During the Period (1973–2020) : A Study in Population Geography.

Abstract

The research aims to study the impact of demographic changes that the study area has undergone on the size and growth of the labor force and the extent of the labor force's contribution to economic activity. The study relied on the historical approach and the descriptive-analytical approach to answer the main question of this study, which is: Has this demographic opportunity been actually exploited and optimally utilized in the study area? The answer became clear that the actually active and economically inactive population in the Butnan region has not benefited as required. Rather, this demographic dividend is being wasted despite the high percentage of the working-age population. It also became clear that human capital is still not being utilized, evidenced by the high percentage of the economically inactive and the high unemployment rates in the study area.
