Abstract

No one disputes the paramount importance of general population census statistics and civil registry statistics for demographic, social and economic studies, and their importance increases for those in charge of development plans and projects. Because population statistics represent the basis upon which the state’s plans are built in all fields, as well as the administrative and political divisions of the state.
The general population census tables give us comprehensive and consistent statistics that provide the researcher, scholar, planner, and administrative and political official with accurate and complete data on the national and resident population, and their demographic, social and economic conditions.  It begins with their number and their classification by type, age, profession, educational, family, economic, linguistic, cultural, religious, residential, their migration movement and other data until it ends with the classification of those with disabilities among them and the identification of their disabilities, and the percentage of those with each disability in the total population.
