Abstract

The city of Brak, which had a population of approximately ten thousand people in 1981, is the largest urban center in Wadi al-Shati and the center of the municipality (1) and the second largest Libyan city in the Fezzan region.
Brak is distinguished by the large size of its population compared to other southern municipalities. The total population of Al-Shati municipality has reached more than forty thousand people, distributed among many agricultural villages and small rest areas, including the city of Brak itself.
